Please read these rules & guidelines of entry carefully as all entrants have to acknowledge acceptance of them as part of the registration process.
Book form sketchbooks should not exceed 32cm x 42cm when closed.
Other types of sketchbooks:
The Exhibition Organisers will be responsible for appropriate hanging fixtures if selected for exhibition.
Each Sketchbook should be authenticated by the artist in an appropriate place, i.e. signed and dated.
Artists are must complete the online submission by Monday 27th March 2017, 5pm.
Artists are required to submit six double-page spreads of their sketchbook. The pages do not have to be consecutive, but the images must be representative of the whole sketchbook.
The images must be titled as follows: Sketchbook 1 (pages 1 and 2), Sketchbook 1 (pages 2 and 3) etc. If submitting a second sketchbook, the images must be titled Sketchbook 2 etc.
Artists are also required to upload a short CV (1 page A4).
The utmost care will be taken of all work submitted for selection, however the SKETCH 2017 will not be liable for any damage caused to work which occurs in the normal course of handling, whether such damage is caused by the organisers, their team of staff or otherwise. All selected books will be recorded digitally and this record will be used for the on-going condition check of the exhibited sketchbooks.
Entrants are strongly advised to arrange their own insurance for works entered.
Label your packing clearly with your name, address and contact details.
The Artist is responsible for ensuring their work meets the above criteria.
Works for the exhibition will be selected by the designated selection panel invited by the SKETCH 2017. The Prizes will be awarded by the selection panel.
The selected exhibition will consist of works that in the opinion of the selection panel qualify as sketchbooks.
The decision of the selection panel is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
Once registered for entry, no refunds of entry fees, in part or whole will be offered.
Standard copyright practices and Data Protection regulations are adhered to.
The names and work details of those artists selected for exhibition will appear on the Rabley Drawing Centre website www.rableydrawingcentre.com.
Selected sketchbooks will be digitally recorded. Images of all or part of a selected sketchbook will be available for the use of Rabley Drawing Centre CIC and the stakeholders for the promotion, education programme, research and documentation of the SKETCH exhibition and related activities. The artist will be credited with any published image relating to their sketchbook(s).
Rabley Drawing Centre commission on sales is 40%.
